ABOUT ME

Hello and welcome to my website.  Whilst here, allow me to tell you a little bit about myself.

I recently returned to 'civi street' after serving for 12 years in the Royal Air Force and now reside in Ramsey, Cambridgeshire.  My long term aspiration is to be a photographer full time, and I continue working towards that goal.  Sitting inside all day behind a desk was never my idea of fun and I much prefer being outside with my camera.  No matter what the weather, I feel that there is always something to shoot if you look for it.

I would describe myself as more of event photographer than anything else.  I specialise mostly in aviation, railways and motorsport photography, and I like to cover living history events in particular re-enactments and military vehicle shows.

I am completely self taught and have spent nearly 10 years constantly improving my photography.  I purchased my first DSLR in June 2009 and since then have been out with my camera almost every weekend, shooting at an event of some sort.  In recent years I have been a regular face at photographic charters organised by Timeline Events and the Centre of Aviation Photography.  You will also see me frequently at the night shoots at RAF Northolt and Bruntingthorpe, by the railway tracks at the Great Central and Nene Valley Railways, or by the track and in the grandstands at Silverstone and Snetterton Race Circuits.

In recent years I have was fortunate enough to have my work published in a variety of media.  I was a regular contributor to the digital magazine Railway Herald and within a 12 month period I had 14 images published and frequently featured in their 'Editors Choice' feature.  In 2006 I volunteered to be an official photographer at The Victory Show, and following this my photographs were used in their advertising material for their 2017 and 2018 shows.  I was recently a photographic contributor to reviews on UK Airshow Review, and you may recognise me from my avatar 'FTS'.  This year I also covered the 1940s event at Ramsey and had many shots published in the local papers.

If you are looking to employ the services of an event photographer for your show, please do not hesitate to get in touch through the Contact link.
